Engr. Rafiqul Islam Talukder, P.Eng., FIEB, is a Member of Executive Board of the Bangladesh Fire & Explosion Research Centre (BFERC) and a distinguished Bangladeshi engineer renowned for his contributions to the engineering community both domestically and internationally. He has served as the Vice Chairman of the Occupational Safety Board at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB), and held the position of Vice Chairman for the IEB UAE Overseas Chapter.

He was actively involved in the activities of The Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB), holding various positions in both the central and local councils from 1985 to 2005. He played an instrumental role in the establishment of the IEB Rangadia Centre and was honored twice with IEB Awards as the Honorary Secretary of the Best Sub-Centre and Centre, presented by the Honorable Prime Minister of Bangladesh.

In his professional career, Engr. Talukder served locally BWDB, BCIC, KAFCO and Internationally at the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) , An International Mechanical and Electrical Company in Engineering and Managerial capacities where he played a pivotal role in advancing engineering practices within the energy sector. Currently he is serving in International Development Company (IDC).

Beyond his professional endeavors, Engr. Talukder is deeply committed to fostering collaboration among Bangladeshi engineers worldwide. Currently he held the position as The President of BEAWorld GCC Chapter, Head of Webinar Committee and an Advisor to Bangladeshi Engineers & Architects Worldwide (BEAWorld), an organization dedicated to creating a global hub for Bangladeshi engineering and architectural professionals. In this capacity, he also served as the Chief Editor of “Synergy,” BEAWorld’s official publication aimed at promoting knowledge sharing and professional development within the community.
He is writer of a book and published multiple technical articles in different journals and magazines.
